Songs from Bonnie

‘Songs from Bonnie’ is a site dedicated to the improvement of maths and English through song. The benefits of music on the brain are well-documented with a huge amount of research having been carried out. In addition to this research, songs are a fun and enjoyable to learn. The songs on this site are all original with original tunes, rather than using well known melodies. Learning a new melody not only stimulates the brain but has been proven to make retaining words and concepts easier.

The maths songs are different, in that they include mathematical rules and vocabulary to explain and reinforce, and the video is simple with uncomplicated images to provide a visual element to learning. There is a choice of videos, with or without numbers, depending on whether you’re teaching counting or number recognition. Learning objectives are included for each song and worksheets, where relevant.
