1954 was great year for the Mile as both the men's & women's world records smashed psychological time barriers.

Roger Bannister (GB) broke the 4 minute mile and also in 1954 Diane Leather (GB) became the first woman to go sub 5 mins for the mile.

Over 60 years later the classic distance holds a mesmerising romantic appeal and on July 20th Soar invites runners of all abilities to see how close to icons of the past they can get.
