Shotokan Martial Arts Recreational Training
S.M.A.R.T Martial Arts teaches a range of styles including Shotokan Karate, Basic Sport Karate, Freestyle Karate, Basic Self Defence, Street Defence, Soft Sword and more. S.M.A.R.T was founded on 10th January 2014 by Chief Instructor Brad Pinder.
Our main style is Shotokan based Karate which is a major Japanese Art in which we teach not only the core values it represents but also the self defence that it is often forgotten to be taught. We also promote adaptability and promote safety as well as practically with our training.
With an established committee and the support of local communities we look to assist many more people, of any age to learn the values that Martial Arts that can teach us all.
We are proud to be recognised by the best governing and supporting body, Cobra Martial Arts Association (CMAA) run by Andrew Morrell Sensei (8th Dan). Through this we provide recognition of grades as well as first class insurance and support to all Martial Artists.
We are also proud members of Martial Arts against Bullying Program (MAAB) and Hyper Bullying Defence, we do whatever we can to help prevent bullying and we have a zero tolerance policy to bullying.
S.M.A.R.T Students will have the opportunity to enter the Revolution Tournaments run by Andrew Crittenden Sensei, these include many tournaments such as, Sport Sword, Light Continuous Sparring, Musical Weapons Forms, Pattern Competitions and many more. Once a Student has achieved their Black Belt with S.M.A.R.T they will be automatically registered to the National Black Board Register (NBBR)
All Instructors at S.M.A.R.T are regularly updated on the teaching techniques covering the Auditory, Visual and Kinaesthetic, this is to ensure that our students, no matter what learning style are catered for.
Our Chief Instructor Brad Pinder Sensei is not only a fully qualified level 1 Martial Arts UK Instructor but is also a 1st Dan Black Belt, 10 Laws of Instruction, First Aid Certificates and also holds several Sports Coaching Qualifications. All of our Instructors are Fully Enhanced DBS checked and insured.
Due to the high quality of standards we have, the Martial Arts Standards Agency (MASA), Instructor Standards both support us. Our Instructors are proud members of Top Martial Arts Schools in the UK (TMASUK) run by Andrew Banks Sensei.
