Small World Childminding

Small World - Home based childcare.

Based in Bracklesham.

I have five children ranging in age from 11yrs to 26yrs, with three living at home now. I have a large naturally lit playroom which opens directly onto a secure garden area, we have a vegetable patch where the children love to grow, cook and eat our produce. I like to take the children to local toddler/singing groups, the park and beach. I am an Ofsted Registered childminder.

I implement the Early Years Foundation Stage through both adult and child led activities. I use West Sussex learning journals to monitor and log the children's progression.

Research carried out by Penelope Leach has shown that children do better socially and emotionally with a childminder than other forms of childcare. I feel I offer a safe and secure home-from home environment which is vital for children's emotional development and offers a more flexible routine within a smaller group than you would be able to achieve in a nursery setting.
