Silverstar Travel Ltd is a social enterprise raising money for the provision of dementia care Admiral Nurses in Northamptonshire.

It provides a luxury chauffeur service aimed at longer-haul journeys and airport/seaport runs.

It offers discounted travel for service users who are aged 55 and over, encouraging independent living for those who are able.

Some of the business profits will go towards dementia care in Northampton, encouraging independent living for those who are less able.

Discounts are also offered for full car bookings (four passengers) and as loyalty bonuses (first service use and from five service uses upwards).

Silverstar Travel Ltd's managing director appreciates that his late mother and her friend, who did not have transport of their own, valued a clean, reliable, professional private hire service for airport runs.

Many older people do have transport of their own but may not wish to drive long journeys, park their vehicles in locations they are not sure about and then haul their luggage long distances.

It is often difficult for family members to make time in their busy lives to do the taking and picking up and public transport may not be available or may be unreliable

PRICING

NB: Bookings only being taken for travel from 1 May 2014

The prices below comprise the 2014/15 tariff for single journeys between Northampton and the major airports/ports (return fares in brackets).

Price 1 is the 'top line' price for travel.

Price 2 is the green discount for a full car of four passengers - a competitive price split four ways.

First time bookings and service users booking for the fifth time and more will also qualify for an additional discount.

Price 3 is the 'bottom line' silver discount for anyone using the service who is aged 55 or over.

So while the 'top line' price may be more expensive than other service providers in the Northampton area, I'm sure you will agree that the discounts on offer - for the retired community, for those who respect the environment and for loyal customers - represent great value for money.

Prices quoted are in pounds sterling.

For night-time travel (starting between 8pm and 8am), please add five pounds for a single journey and ten pounds for a return journey. The same price additions apply for Saturday travel.

For Sundays and Bank Holidays, add ten pounds for a single journey and £15 return.

These supplements do not apply to the 55 and over prices.
