Shapeshifters Pole & Aerial fitness

Shapeshifters was opened on 5th March 2014 by Joanne King. Joanne wanted to share her love for pole and help people feel better about themselves and help with fitness, grace and flow.
Joanne had been training in pole for 2 years then decided to take her teaching training and has never looked back. In all classes joanne helps people at their own level being patient and pushing people to achieve new moves. We have a lot of regular girls that attend once or three times a week and always have new beginner’s classes running. At Shapeshifters they aim for excellence in their training and can teach techniques that exceed just simply completing a move and also help you to develop elegance, grace, flexibility and strength.

After high demand Shapeshifters just recently moved into bigger premises which opened in January 2015. We have 10 poles in our studio and only have 1 girl per pole. All our poles are static and spiny and nearly 12 ft. high.

On the premises we also have a crèche,burlesque, core conditioning and flexibility classes, sunbeds and street dance classes.
Shapeshifters offers photo-shoots for the girls or guys throughout the year both indoor and outdoor, also they held their first pole show on December 7th2014 where 9 brave girls preformed to a song of their choice. The show was a big success and the girls can’t wait to perform again, we are hoping for more to perform in our next show which will be held in the summer of 2015 then again in December 2015.

Joanne has arranged for masterclasses such as Susan Colebourne from pole silks and Charlotte Robertson this year so far and hope to get more well-known professional pole dancers in the studio to teach variation.

oining Shapeshifters team from February 2015 is Sabrina who will be also teaching pole classes. Sabrina is a trained dancer and circus arts performer. She also runs her own entertainment company and travels around performing skills such as fire breathing and stilt walker. Sabrina also performs pole and Ariel hoop at various venues. Sabrina started pole 2 years ago and became hooked she trains daily and loves flips and drops, she started competing in 2014 where she was placed 2nd in the dance inspire in house comp and entered pole2 pole professional cup where she came 3rd.Sabrina says ‘ I have a massive love for pole, I love to perform and complete. I train everyday on pole and flexibility or strength moves and am excited to help people on their own pole journey.
