A little about me and how Sew Simple Designs began ;-)

A couple of years ago when re-designing my little boys bedroom, with limited space I found it difficult to source suitable storage for what we, as a family believe to be such an important resource when growing up, books!!

I was able to source book shelves, book cases and free standing book slings, but personally these were either too big in size or I felt that they were not child friendly (e.g. only the spine of the book is visible on book shelves, whereas for many children (and even adults), a visual approach is more favoured, whereby being able to see the full book cover)

With this in mind I decided to dust off the sewing machine and design our own wall mounted book slings.

I can honestly say these slings have been invaluable and are used on a daily basis by my son to select his own books to read at bedtime.

One of the main advantages of the wall mounted slings is that it enables your current floor space to remain, great for space saving and rooms which may have limited space.

You can select and match your book slings to your chosen room colour/theme with a choice of fabrics

The slings can be made in a choice of sizes to suit various spaces. I am currently offering 2 different sizes small (50cm Width) and large (80cm Width).

I have a selection of pre made slings in various designs, however, if you have a specific fabric request I will aim to source ( please note: as this would be a custom order the price may vary slightly)

The brackets are a natural wood finish, which also look good painted or varnished to match your room should you wish to paint yourself.

Please note: As these are handmade (including the brackets), there may be slight imperfections but all made individually with lots of care :-)
