Seashells provides a service which makes it possible for people with learning disabilities, older people and people with a diagnosis of dementia to stay at home, and not go unnecessarily into a residential home or nursing home. The age range that we are licensed is between 18 and 65 for those with Learning Disabilities and older people over the age of 65.

A major benefit of community support is that a Service User can remain in their own home and therefore carry out a normal life as possible. They are surrounded by familiar things such as their belongings and can have friends or family visit whenever they wish. We actively encourage our Service Users to do as much for themselves as they can, to minimise dependency and create independence.

Seashells participates in the communities that it serves, and shares the positive values of those communities. We do not discriminate against any section of the community, either in providing services or as employers.

Seashells respects each Service User as an individual. We listen to their views and encourage them to make choices about how we deliver care to them. Wherever possible, we provide the service in the manner that they wish. Each Service user will be fully consulted with and given their own Care Plan.
