Script Charity Shop

SCRIPT (Securing Childhood, Restoring Innocence, Preventing Trafficking) Charity reg no. 1144361 has been formed in this country with the primary aim to care for the children of the women of a Red light area in, Kolkata and to engage the women in learning a skill which can give them back their dignity and financial independence. To this end we are presently renting two buildings there, one is a hostel for the older children to give them a safe place to be at night and one is a workshop. It also supports eight children at present, to enable them to go to a boarding school which has an excellent standard of education. The whole project is being managed in Kolkata by a wonderful Indian lady who has worked in this area for twelve years and without whom we would have had no idea where to start!! We visited at the end of October 2011 and were able to see our first building with Divine SCRIPT written above it.
