The relaxing and rejuvenating effects of warmth have been known for centuries; indeed, the Scandinavian Sauna tradition stretches back to the iron age, while the Roman’s enjoyed hot baths (known as Thermae) a couple of hundred years later. Luckily you need not be an emperor or consul to enjoy a hot bath today, however! Wooden hot tubs emerged hundreds of year ago throughout the North and East as a means of making cleansing hot baths more accessible, whilst reaping the benefits of using traditional building materials (predominantly larch and spruce).
