More about Royal Marines Shop

On 2 April 2012 the Royal Marines Association Trading Company (RMATC) was born and it was registered as RMA Operations Limited. The aim of RMA Operations Limited is quite unique. We provide top-quality, often unique merchandise in keeping with the distinguished reputation of the Royal Marines. We provide business opportunities for serving Royal Marines recovering from serious injuries and illnesses and as the company grows, we aim to expand our area of operations.

One of the worst things about leaving the Corps is leaving the lads behind. The hardest thing about leaving the Royal Marines after you become injured or ill is that your career has been unexpectedly cut short and all the lads really want to do is continue being a Royal Marine. RMA Operations Ltd not only provides practical training, but it is a way to slowly ease the lads into civilian life instead of it being a sudden shock. Some of the guys find it harder than others to come to terms with their injuries and find it difficult to be seen in public. RMA Operations Ltd also gives them a way of re-integrating into society with their peers around them, so eventually they are confident enough to go it alone. RMA Operations Ltd is also there for the lads after they are discharged from the Corps. If we are out on the road attending fundraisers and are in the area, we can simply pick up the phone and see if the lads want to join us, not necessarily to help us fundraise but just to catch up and swing the lamp. No one knows what it is like to be an injured or ill Royal Marine except another injured or ill Royal Marine, so we aim to use this new initiative as a support mechanism as well as a training and fundraising tool to let the lads know that once you walk – or wheel – out of those gates, you are not alone. Once you’re a Marine, you’re always a marine.
