Led by theatre director and Rondo Associate Director Shane Morgan, the Rondo Writer's Network is a forum that meets on a term by term basis with the aim of focusing on good practice in the field of writing for stage.
Being a member of the network allows you access to a group of like minded people who wish to explore different ways of writing for the stage.
Run by the Rondo Theatre, known as being the home of new writing in the South West, the sessions may involve the following:
Approaches to writing plays for the stage, developing structure, character and theme.
Reading and commenting on the work of the members of the network each week.
Setting specific tasks including writing for a group of actors.
Getting your work out there, approaches to getting work staged and the realities of the market place.
Advice on new work to see and read.
Occasional visits from other professionals to bring new and varied perspectives to the sessions.
Rehearsed readings.
There is also an annual Writer's Network show which is produced and staged by the Rondo Theatre as part of their programme.
