Established in early 2012, Ripping Yarns in an independent wool and haberdashery shop, catering for all budgets. You can find us on the picturesque (if occasionally wind-swept!) North East coast, in Saltburn – our lovely little seaside town.

We stock a range of fantastic from West Yorkshire Spinners, Artesano, Debbie Bliss, stunning Guernsey Wool from Frangipani, as well as fantastic budget yarns perfect for beginners. We’re also thrilled to be working with local company Black Bat Sheepskins, bringing you top quality British wools which are processed in Yorkshire and ideal for knitting, spinning, weaving and more.

History, heritage and high quality are words we value at Ripping Yarns, which is why we stocking a range of wool from hand-knitting experts Sirdar, a company first established in 1880. Family company, King Cole is another of our favourites and you can expect to see this diverse and innovative brand well represented on our shelves.

Also available are beautiful ribbons, buttons and other essential haberdashery items to add those all important finishing touches to your crafty projects. We are pleased to be able to offer some amazing stitch markers from Beaded Allsorts, with lots of other bits and pieces to keep you busy.

At Ripping Yarns, we want to make knitting accessible and fun for all, but we need YOU to help us build up our community of crafters. Our experienced and cheerful staff are more than happy to assist you with your projects, whatever your skill level, so please do call in for a chat and a cup of tea.
