RIBFEST 2016! NEW RIBCHESTER FESTIVAL OF MUSIC AND DRAMA
Ribcaged Productions are delighted to announce the launch of “RibFEST 2016”. Owen Phillips Ribcaged’s Artistic Director which is also a registered Charity, says they are keen to keep the flag flying in Ribchester with a Summer Festival to include particularly music, both Classical and Popular, but also drama and art.
The Festival will take place in the week commencing July 18th with highlight performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 22nd/23rd and 24th July. Venues will be throughout the village including Ribchester Village Hall, St. Peter and St. Paul’s Parish centre, local pubs, club and cafes.
Ribcaged are keen to further the interest in music and the arts which has been promoted for nearly 25 years by Ribchester Festival. It was announced during this year’s festival that 2015 would be the last such. RibFEST will also actively encourage and promote young people’s engagement in the arts.
As well as continuing the classical music element, Ribcaged, which was formed in Ribchester 10 years ago by Owen Phillips and Keith Flood, is also intent on providing entertainment for all ages and tastes, with a particular emphasis on young people.
Ribcaged, in addition to its wide range of Theatre work, has also presented several Cabaret shows over the years within the Village.
Owen has stated that RibFest will reflect what the community wants to hear and see and Ribcaged will be actively seeking the views and interests of Ribchester and the surrounding area.
