Remade in Edinburgh is a social enterprise and charity. Our mission is to create a zero waste society by teaching repair and reuse skills and promoting sustainability, and campaigning for products to be built to last. And we want to do this in a way which is not only informative, but also engaging, creative, and fun.
In May 2016 we opened our very own repair hub, the Edinburgh Remakery, at 127 Leith Walk. Here we sell second-hand refurbished and affordable furniture and IT equipment, host a weekly repair drop-in surgery every Thursday night, and run weekly workshops in textiles and woodwork/furniture repairs and upcycling.
Through these services we hope to give people the knowledge and skills they need to transform unwanted or broken items into something useful and beautiful!
We encourage skill and idea sharing and seek an alternative to a culture of cheap disposable items.
