More about Regional Driving Assessment Centre

The Regional Driving Assessment Centre (RDAC) was set up in 1989, as part of the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre within the NHS. Due to circumstances beyond our control, RDAC left the NHS and eventually became a Charity in January 2008. The RDAC has since opened satellite and outreach centres to enable us to bring the service nearer to you. We currently have our head office in Birmingham, a satellite centre in Oxford and outreach services in Cannock (Staffordshire), Hull (East Yorkshire) Northampton, Leamington Spa and Worcester. We provide driving and access assessments for older adults and people with disabilities who want to learn to drive for the first time or for those who have acquired a disability and want to return to driving. We offer access assessments for those who have difficulty getting into a car or loading wheelchairs and scooters. We are happy to discuss with you, your options and we are here to help you retain your safe independence as a driver or passenger. Driving is an activity which is important for personal mobility and we are here to help you with driving, travelling as a passenger or adapting your car to keep you safe on the road wherever possible.
