Redlands Lake - Southlake Angling Society

Redlands is just over 8 acres with 40 swims and is owned by the Society. This lake is our general fishery with matches being held throughout the season. There are large shoals of bream to over 8lb up to 14lb, plus good stocks of roach, rudd, tench, perch and pike. Last season the lake produced several large tench with the biggest weighing 12lb 10oz.

The lake is also stocked with carp, the lake record being a heavily scaled mirror of 36lb. A number of recent stockings of 120 plus fish of Welly and Dinton strain are now reaching weights of mid to upper double figure.

Finally, for those of you that like a spot of river fishing there is the backwater of the river Loddon running alongside the lake. This can throw up surprising catches at times, with barbell reported at 8lb 12ozs, chub to over 5lb and good bags of roach and dace.

At Redlands there are a number of swims that have been prepared to cater for disabled anglers.

Redlands has no closed season, however the river adjoining the lake is strictly June 16th to March 14th fishing only
