Welcome to the RED Award!

As a student at the University of Reading, you can take part in the RED Award in order to develop your employability skills and personal attributes.

In today's increasingly competitive jobs market employers consider everything a candidate has to offer - not just their academic achievements.

Employers are looking for applicants who can identify their own abilities and ambitions.

The RED Award will help you stand out from the crowd, and give you precisely the examples of self-development that employers are looking for.

There are 5 easy steps to complete the award:

- Sign up via the RISIS Portal
- 5 hours of Training and Development
- 10 hours of Volunteering
- 35 hours of Core Activity
- Attend a sign-off session

In addition to the RED employability skills certificate awarded alongside your degree, this scheme will: help you build a wider skills portfolio; provide recognition of your extra-curricular commitments; be included on your degree transcript; provide a great addition to your CV; and give you the opportunity to get more involved in university life!
