Reach Performing Arts School

Reach was founded in 2002 to teach dance in an enjoyable way to the highest possible standards.

Hip Hop and Adult Tap are enjoyed by all ages.

Ballet, Modern and Tap are taught to the I.S.T.D. syllabus and Drama to the Trinity College, London syllabus.

Grade examinations can be taken in each subject.

Reach are proud of the number of distinctions that have been achieved in all their exams. Recent additions to the syllabus include Singing and Musical Theatre, which are popular at the Birchington branch.

In 2006 their first show, Reach Out! was produced at the Theatre Royal Margate. This has been followed by charity shows, appearances at the Yamaha Music festival at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury and Open Days. In 2008 we returned to the Theatre Royal for 3 performances of Bugsy Malone and a specially commissioned musical, Pied Piper. Robinson Crusoe followed in 2010.

There is an annual Awards Show and a Bi-Annual Musical Production, which will take place this year at the Granville Theatre, Ramsgate.

Pupils are currently working towards this Spring’s Dance and Drama exams.

Pupils have gained experience by appearing in pantomimes and Summer Shows at the Winter Gardens, Margate.

The Reach Agency has supplied dancers to trade shows at Olympia and Earls Court as well as dancer / singer / actors to Centre Parcs and Margate Winter Gardens amongst others.

Former pupils at Reach have gone on to study at London Performing Arts colleges, perform in the West End, on T.V., and as voices for cartoon characters.

Reach Productions Ltd. Have produced and advised on productions nationally and abroad as well as, more locally, producing professional pantomime at the Winter Gardens and Theatre Royal, Margate.

Reach is proud to have comedian Joe Pasquale, singer Chesney Hawkes, Sylvia Young O.B.E. and Brian Rogers as patrons of the school.
