Rachels Childminding Services

My name is Rachel Marie Short and I am 23 years old. I live on the 29 reg Army camp based in Cirencester, with my two children aged 4 and 1 years and my lovely husband of 4 years who serves in the Army. I am originally from Preston however have travelled the world since being young due to my father also serving in the Army. I have lived in places such as Cyprus, Northern Ireland, Germany and England, however I am completely British.

I am self employed, running a professional childminding business in my safe and secure homely environment which is Ofsted registered. My house has been checked by the local Fire Safety officers. I am very flexible, dependable and reliable. I welcome all children into my home and provide them with lots of fun and loving. I am first aid trained and thrive on being the welcoming, warm, friendly women I am.

I am registered by Ofsted and inspected regularly. I am able to offer care in the early mornings, late evenings, overnight care or at weekends. I am also able to accommodate the childcare needs of parents who work shifts or irregular hours. If you would like to see any references, then they can be provided for you.

The youngest child I have minded was two weeks old when I first looked after her. Once she turned one, I began to mind another little girl aged eight weeks old; and when she turned one, I started to care for another little girl aged 9 weeks old. I have also cared for a premature baby who had a tendency to stop breathing. I am very happy and confident looking after young babies. I also care for a number of toddlers, pre-schoolers and older siblings.

I aim to provide a wide range of opportunities in the form of interactive, fun and challenging activities to enable children of all backgrounds and abilities to develop and learn through play in a caring, supportive and happy environment.

I am guided in my routines and policies by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and am registered and inspected by OFSTED.

I recognise the importance of parental involvement in a child’s early years and look forward to working together as a team to meet your child(ren)’s full potential.

My objectives for the children include the following key points:

•To develop the social skills necessary to help build friendships
•To learn to work in harmony alongside their peers
•To develop their social skills, mental and physical skills and knowledge of the world around them to help prepare for the transition to school and the life challenges ahead
•Each child will be treated as an individual and their needs addressed from a holistic perspective
•I aim to offer a balanced curriculum, in a home environment of stimulating and constructive play and activities to develop creativity and imagination.

I have a strong community spirit and endeavour to work in association with my local schools; pre-school settings and children's centres.
