The Race Hub Experience

Experience the latest and most realistic F1 and touring car technology with Race Hub's full motion racing simulation at Brands Hatch!

Visitors to Brands Hatch can now drive and race the circuit without the expense of a fully-prepared car or licence, thanks to Race Hub, a new simulation experience located within the venue.

Race Hub, which is entirely independent from MSV, can be found amongst the shops located under the Brabham/Stewart hospitality suites. The centre is open from Wednesday to Friday afternoons and all day Saturday and Sunday throughout the year. It will also be open during events, including this weekend's Britcar 'into the night' race and BRDC Formula 4 Winter Series.

Race Hub's Mark Russell explains the concept: "We're a state-of-the-art racing simulator, with full motion-sensor rigs containing FIA Cobra racing seats, Fanatec professional steering wheel and pedals, plus force-feedback, triple 42" screens, and 5.1 surround sound. It's all top-of-the-range equipment to get as close as you can to the real thing. Both Brands Hatch Indy and Grand Prix circuits are included, so if you haven't got your racing licence and you want to experience what it would feel like then this is probably the next best thing."

The three simulator rigs certainly feel close to the real thing, with hydraulic movement to simulate roll, squat and dive as you negotiate the corners. The unit's construction also enhances the race car feel, being reminiscent of the stripped-out metal interiors of purpose-built race cars.

You can also drive a variety of cars, from NGTC and S2000 touring cars, to sports GTs, including the Aston Martin DBR9. You can also experience the thrill of taking a Formula 1 car around the Grand Prix circuit, which will certainly appeal to gamers who have sampled the 80s version on their consoles with F1 2013 and want a more realistic experience.

"All three machines are linked together," continued Mark. "So we can get three people in at once and they can all race together, or they can be used individually. There are many more tracks on the simulator and that list includes Cadwell Park and Snetterton.

"We are running a standard rate of £6 for five minutes, including this weekend, where you can come along and experience the setup. If you'd prefer a bit more time we have 20 and 30 minute slots available but we'd recommend booking these in advance at event weekends."
