More about Puppet Town - Surrey

Puppet Town, the new, interactive, story led, music and wiggle baby and toddler class!

Come down to Puppet Town and have some fun! You never know who you might meet! It might be the famous chef Al Dente, Megan the Cheerleader, the King and Queen of Puppet Town or you may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Magical Mermaid who lives in Lake Puppet (pronounced Poopay).

Over the course of a 10 week term we will visit all the residents of Puppet Town, sing songs, dance, learn and laugh. We’ll learn magic spells using our magic wands. Put on our chef hats to help Al Dente make a feast for a special birthday party and so much more!

TICKLE AVENUE - Sitting - 18months 11am-11.40am

This class will have an emphasis on props and songs to experience the Puppet Town story each week. We will encourage movement and creativity and give you a wonderful chance to escape the week’s business and play, bond and laugh with your little person.

ZIG ZAG LANE - 18 months - 3 years. 10am-10.40am.

This class will be more movement based as we know our toddlers love to try out their new-found movement skills! We will play games, sing songs, solve puzzles and dance as we travel through the week’s story. Through fun and play your toddler’s use of language and co-ordination will take off!

Research has shown how physical activity is a strong factor in the early development of the brain. Within our classes we aim to enhance your child’s fine and gross motor skills through the use of movement and props and to increase their confidence and inspire imagination. Our puppets are a fun way to engage your child and through role play will help stimulate thoughts and ideas. They encourage imitation and speech development as well as helping children open up on an emotional level by observing the puppets gestures and mannerisms.

Katie Nicholls will be guiding us on our wonderful weekly adventures. She has 15 years experience teaching dance, music and drama to children of all ages. She has also performed roles in many musicals most notably playing the lead in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s German production of Starlight Express as Pearl. Katie is excited to combine all her experience as a teacher and performer with Puppet Town. (Her husband is currently performing in the West End production of The Lion King in London so will be our in house puppetry expert!) Katie is CRB checked to an enhanced level and holds a First Aid Certificate with the St John’s Ambulance.
