Kevin Poneskis & Caroline Benson - PPN Hosts

Kevin spent 24 years in the British Army, most of which was served in 29 Commando Regiment, reaching the very respectable rank of Regimental Sergeant Major. He held many instructional roles during his time in the Army and gained significant experience in training others, coaching, mentoring and leadership. He served all over the world including 2 tours of Afghanistan. Kevin has many sporting achievements under his belt including representing the Army at Tug of War, Regimental boxing and cross country running. He was also an Army ski instructor and completed the New York marathon for charity. Other marathons include Dublin, London and the Edinburgh Moonwalk in aid of breast cancer, wearing a bra! Having built and managed a portfolio of properties whilst being in the Army, the first in 1991 at the age of 20, Kevin chose to leave the Army in 2011 rather than pursue a commission at Captain rank, in order to embark on a full time career in property investing. The early properties included BTLs and a full refurbishment and conversion to an HMO, which provided enough income to enable him to get out of the rat race. Since getting fully trained in property and leaving the army Kevin has added a large number of properties to his portfolio, including HMOs, lease options, complete refurbishment, forced appreciation projects, flips and standard BTLs.
Caroline has had a successful career in IT Management, latterly in a Global Senior Management Role, with responsibility for a multi million pound budget and a team in excess of 200 people including offshore delivery teams. Industries Caroline has worked in include Consulting and Financial Services and she has a broad range of business skills including Supplier Management, Programme Management, Forecasting & Budgeting and Contract Negotiation. As a then complete novice to property investing, Caroline got fully trained in property in 2010 and then became a part time independent IT Consultant, enabling her to focus on building a property portfolio. In 2012 Caroline became a full time property investor and she now has a portfolio of properties including HMOs, complete refurbishments, forced appreciation properties, title splits and standard BTLs.
Kevin and Caroline are life and business partners who have deliberately chosen to have a broad property strategy as there are many ways to make money through property in Swansea. They maintain their portfolio personally, including property and tenant sourcing and property management. They know the area well as they live and invest in Swansea and have lots of family in the area.
