Polly Allsorts

It has been nearly 3 years since my beautiful mother was taken from us, I say taken, as it was against her will to go, but the cancer she had been living with for 15 years was to take her in the end, running ferociously through her body until it sucked every ounce out of her, until she lay there still, and gone with a peaceful smile on her face. She was a unique, perfect, beautiful woman inside and out, whom we were lucky enough to have her as ours. The doctors told us she may not last the night, but the next morning, there she was. Then it was only a few days, we were desperate to take her home although she was reluctant at first, she probably felt she should do it for us. And somehow weeks went by, she was painting pictures, and sorting things out. Looking back, not experiencing grief before, we were on auto pilot mode, existing, but in our own little world which was now our life, and never to be the same again.

The auto-pilot has managed to get me through. I started to get back into my crafts, it was the only thing that I could lose myself in it for a little while. Back in the summer I was thinking what was I going to do now I had this massive void. My boys bought new premises for their business 'Volsen' and let me have a box room, well a cupboard really, to store and do my crafts. So with that in mind, I started sewing and designing cards. It was an easy decision to come up with a name for my company 'Polly Allsorts!' after my mum Pauline. It has taken me two years to just have the will to do something with It. I joined an organisation for crafts in 2016 the AFCI.UK, met some lovely people who have helped me move on. I have designed some whimsical houses and rubber stamps all ready to go! Watch this space.
