More about Pentridge Village Hall

Pentridge Village Hall is a former school house, recently renovated to a high standard. The hall has an abundance of history and as part of the renovation, it was imperative that the character of this beautiful building was retained.

The hall benefits from a modernised kitchen with serving hatch, WC, disabled access and use of the Village Green. The floor has been lovingly restored with a solid oak finish and the hall is fitted with electric central heating.

The traditional features of this building such as the high, beamed ceilings and windows, and original fireplace, make it the perfect backdrop for photography and artwork.

Pentridge is a quiet hamlet, hidden away at the end of a country lane just off the A354, Salisbury to Blandford road in East Dorset. The Village is situated in the shadow of Pentridge Hill. With the heights of Cranborne Chase on the other side of the road, Pentridge could almost be said to be at the gateway into Dorset.
As with many Dorset Villages, Pentridge has close ties to Thomas Hardy. The author was said to have stayed in Pentridge for some time and has written fondly of the hamlet as ‘Trantridge’ in the novel, Tess of the d’urbervilles.

The hall can be booked for your private event by emailing us at info@pentridgedorset.co.uk
