Party Central Cyprus

I have always been the party girl. I spent my teens growing up near Flamingo Land. My parents had a caravan there, and every weekend we would go to the show bar, watch the acts and have fun. A theme park was my playground, I had an amazing childhood.

It probably wasn’t what my parents wanted me to do, but as soon as I left school I started working for the entertainments team living in my parent’s caravan. I started as live actor in the ghost walk. Dressed up in various outfits, from vampires to werewolves, I would hide in the shadows and jump out to scare unsuspecting visitors. In the evening I ran the children’s karaoke in the bar for the holiday visitors on the campsite, encouraging them to sing and playing games with them. Although I was just a teenager I was given a lot of responsibility, and It was not long before I joined the main entertainment team in the show bar. I was doing the party dances, taking part in the shows, doing magic tricks and going into the audience to get the shy kids up and dancing. That's where I became "Little Em". I learned a lot about what kids enjoyed and how to make them laugh, but most importantly I learned a lot about myself, and what I was born to do.

Out of season I took a job at a local sports hall running kid’s parties for age groups 3-16. I also worked as an activities coordinator in a care home. It was wonderful helping the elderly to have fun and make them laugh (they were so competitive). I loved that job so much I thought about working in a nursery or care home full time. But doing parties, playing games, doing magic, telling jokes and making people laugh was my dream.

After a few seasons at Flamingoland I became a magicians assistant. This led me all around the country, to the ferries and eventually on to cruise ships travelling the world. When I wasn’t vanishing from boxes or being levitated through the air I could be found in the children’s areas working as the kids entertainer. This was my life for six years. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that most people unfortunately never get the chance to do.

At the end of this incredible chapter in my life I met my wonderful husband-to-be and worked for a while as a carer before getting married, becoming a mum and moving away from my home to start a new life. Despite the amazing life I had before, having children is by far the best thing I have done, to watch them grow and learn is incredible. I was still the party girl at heart, and although I never hankered after my old life, instead I dreamt of running my own business. Conversely just as things were just getting underway in Scotland, my husband came home from work to tell me that in 3 months we would be moving to Cyprus.

I never gave up on my plans and fate found me working with the wonderful Alan at Party Central. I've had the best time working alongside him and have been part of some fantastic parties. I've met some wonderful people along the way and enjoyed learning so much from him and the team.

Unfortunately Alan's time in Cyprus is coming to an end and he will be moving on to pastures new. There couldn’t be a better place to run a business like this, so I decided to take over the running of Party Central myself. I will do my upmost to live up to the fine name and standard that Party Central has established over the following years, and hopefully improve upon it. This has been my dream in the making for almost 20 years now, and I relish every opportunity it presents.
