Rise and Shine
5-8 year olds 4-5pm Tuesdays

Our very popular group for 5-8yr olds to introduce members to the youth theatre. Sessions will consist of confidence building games, introduction to performance technique and improvisation skills.

Out There

Specialising in performance technique, Out There create performances for the community, championing PYT and improving their performance skills.

Focusing on devising, script work, physical theatre and vocal techniques, Out There will help to give members the skills required to be a part of On Stage as well as building confidence, public speaking and drama skills. With less pressure to work towards a large scale end performance, Out There is a group full of fun, friendship and experimentation.
Out There will be offered special discounts to watch On Stage performances.

On Stage

6:30-8:30pm Wednesdays

On Stage is the Palace Youth Theatre’s performance group. From January – July On Stage will be working towards a main stage show which will be performed at the Palace Theatre. The show will run for three days to a paying audience. During show week, all cast will be required to rehearse Monday-Wednesday evening with performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings as well as a Saturday matinee. Roles will be cast through auditions and cast will be expected to make a commitment to rehearsals. Continued absence may result in re-casting.

During the September-December term, On Stage will rehearse and perform a smaller scale studio or stage show which will be a one off performance. Members may also be given the opportunity to take on roles such as stage manager, assistant director, lighting designer, etc.

There are limited spaces within PYT On Stage. For the September – December term this will be based on a first come first served basis. For the January-July terms, auditions will be held in November/December for the opportunity to be a part of this group.

Youth Theatre members are free to chose to be a part of both Out There and On Stage if they so wish

AIM

5-6:30pm Wednesdays

The group is led by Kevin Hunton who has been trained and mentored closely by Richard Hayhow of Shysters Theatre Company. Aim High create highly physical, devised work and perform in the Palace Theatre’s Room Upstairs, stunning their audiences with their unique performance and workshop styles.AIM – Adventures In Movement is the youth theatre’s branch for young performers aged 16-25 with Learning Disabilities.

AIM work towards increasingly popular studio performances in The Room Upstairs.
