More about Old Manor House Riding School

The Old Manor House Riding School is one of the counties oldest established Riding School. It was first set up by Patricia Halliday in 1946 following the sudden death of her father. She had hoped to follow in her fathers footsteps as an antique dealer and furniture maker but his death made this impossible and money had to be earned. Patricia or Pat as she is commonly know had a few horses of her own, so started to use them to teach riding in order to generate an income. With her passion for Horse and a great depth of knowledge she soon became well know in Oxfordshire and surround areas, where people came for afar to learn from her. Over the years she has trained generations, some of which became extremely successful in a number of equestrian fields ranging from BHS and Pony Club Examiners, Judges in Dressage and Showing and riders at Eventing, Dressage, Show jumping and Showing. At the age of 93 in July 2015 Pat passed away leaving a long establisted riding school. Her wishes were for the school was to carry on as long as an urban riding school is possible and we will do our best.
