Nursery Thyme

Nursery Thyme Ltd is a family owned business based in the picturesque market town of Devizes, Wiltshire near to the Kennet and Avon canal. The shop was established in 1986 by Carole and Gerald Harris soon after the arrival of their first child when they noticed a local need for a nursery shop and since 2005 has expanded to include online internet selling

For the majority of this time we have been stockists of all the prestigious brands of baby equipment but in more recent years due to the trend towards online shopping we have changed our business model away from mainstream nursery products. The main reason for this move was because we did not wish to compete with manufacturers selling directly online and felt by doing so ourselves we would be unable to give the personal advice and support required by young families buying their first nursery equipment. We missed the sight of happy faces on proud parents as they pushed away their new arrival in a shiny new pram but we knew there would be other exciting new products available which are better suited to our business and give us just as much pleasure.

We didn’t have long to wait!

When researching new product ranges last year we stumbled across a company called Charlie Bears so after contacting them we were lucky enough to become a stockist.

Since then we have not looked back, or ever had so much fun. It has totally changed our lives and the direction of our business. We have now become proud stockists of Charlie Bears, Steiff, Merrythought, and Kaycee Bears to complete the ranges we can offer our customers -the two latter are handmade in the UK.

Our shop has now been transformed into a Bear Shop and we would be delighted to welcome you when you visit us – a cup of tea is always on offer.

We haven’t forgotten our roots in the nursery trade and will still be stocking nursery accessories and gifts, with our favourite suppliers Mamas and Papas and Babystyle playing a large part as ever.
