No Phone Zone

No phone zone is a concept created to stimulate discussion amongst like-minded individuals who are concerned about the potential negative impact that smartphone overuse could have in our homes.

Dr Martin Lee is a consultant rheumatologist working in Newcastle-Ipon-Tyne. He has a specialist interest in young adult and adolescent care.

He created the concept of no phone zone based upon his reflections that smartphone overuse (particularly at bedtime and during the night) appears to be having negative effects on his patient’s physical and psychological health.
