Here at Newark Self Drive Hire we pride ourselves on being able to provide our clients with a range of quality modern vehicles for short term hire.

The vehicle range spans from the economical Ford Ka through to the popular long wheel base Ford Luton van, incorporating a tail lift.

With the addition of our Auto and MOT Centres, we can extend the care that we give our own hire fleet to our client’s own vehicle.

Terms Of Hire

DRIVERS
Drivers must produce a current driving licence and be between 25 and 70 years of age (unless supplying their own insurance) and have held a full driving licence for a minimum of two years.

· no charge for an additional driver
· all drivers must be named of the rental agreement
· some endorsements are acceptable at our discretion

CUSTOMERS OWN INSURANCE
If customers use their own insurance it must be fully comprehensive, loss of use charges may be made if the vehicle is off the road due to the hirer;s responsibility.

FUEL
The hirer is to supply their own fuel, the fuel level reading is always to be above the red on the gauge, this minimum level must be maintained at all times.

HIRER’S RESPONSIBILITIES
The hirer is responsible for the daily routine checks and maintenance of the vehicle(s) including:

· oil and water levels
· tyres
· windscreen washer fluids

The full costs of any subsequent damage found to be directly caused by the above not being maintained correctly will be charged to the hirer.

The hirer should return the vehicle(s) in a clean condition, especially the interiors. If any vehicle is returned excessively dirty a charge will be made.

NEW CUSTOMERS
When you hire from us for the first time you are required to fill in a New Customer Form. We need to see a current full driving licence plus two current forms of identification with your name and address on them, i.e. utility bills, bank statement etc. Once on our system you can book over the phone.

EXPRESS ENROLMENT
Our unique express enrolment system is available for frequent hire customers. Signing a master rental agreement enables us to get you and your staff on the road with minimum fuss, reducing time and paperwork.

OVERSEAS VISITORS
Overseas visitors may use a valid driving licence from their own country.

INSURANCE EXCESS
The hirer is liable for up to £100 of any damage including:

· tyres
· wheel trims
· windscreen, etc.

BONDS
A £100 bond is required on some commercial vehicles, refundable if returned clean and undamaged.

DEPOSIT
A non-refundable deposit may be required at the time of booking.

EXTENSION OF RENTAL PERIOD
The rental period may only be extended by prior arrangement before the initial period of the rental expires and a further pre-payment will be required. Failure to comply with this condition may render the insurance cover void.
