More about NazikYoga

“Authentic yoga for awareness within”
Yoga is an amazing tool that can help us to have better, healthier, happier lives.
Nazik adopts a no frills attitude allowing the practice to prove itself. Going back to the roots of when Yoga began, rediscovering the tools that have been provided for us all to deal with daily lives, anxieties and challenges. Yoga is a personal process, a system of support to aid the individual through life in a calm joyous way. Nazikyoga techniques encourages a deeper experience through moments of stillness and complete awareness of how the mind, body and emotions are feeling.
Classes include:
Asana (posture)
On a physical level, yoga helps improve flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance. Yoga aims to build a well-balanced, flexible body and a clear mind.

Yoga is ideal for all ages and stages. Even the most unfit person can start doing yoga, as authentic practice adapts to suit all levels.

On an energetic level, yoga teaches how to cope better with stress by cultivating a sense of ease in both active or passive poses. On a psychological level, yoga helps to cultivate mindfulness by shifting awareness to the sensations, thoughts, and emotions that accompany a given pose or practice.

Pranayama (breath work)

Using various different techniques the lungs will strengthen and gain capacity, which helps to balance the nervous system and induces physical and mental stability.
As you breathe better, move better and circulate better, all the other organs function better, filling the body with vitality and health.
Meditation and relaxation
Meditation has strong scientific support in linking the practice with improvement of health. It appears to have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the immune system, boosting it when needed.
Relaxation and meditation induces peace, by quelling the fluctuations of the mind. Nazikyoga will slow down the mental loops of frustration, regret, anger, fear, and desire that can cause stress. By attending Nazik’s classes regulary, it is possible to build strength that can be extended to the rest of your life to overcome inertia and change dysfunctional habits.

Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation)

As well as the basics of yoga Nazik provides classes that offers insight into more subtle aspects of Yoga practise.
Nazik will take you through Yoga Nidra, an ancient form of guided relaxation. Its purpose is to expand open and awaken individual mind.
It has been scientifically proven during Yoga Nidra that the brain frequency/waves change from Beta to Alpha activity. The Alpha waves in the brains are associated with relaxation, peace and a feeling of well being.
Yoga Nidra encourages activation of the self-curative functions of the body.
Yoga Nidra is a non chemical tranquiliser that quickly removes insomnia. Studies have shown that 40 mins of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 4 hours of deep sleep. The whole body is recharged. The practice opens up the potential of the mind and awakens the faculty of intuition.

Baby yoga
Naziks’ Baby yoga creates a safe, honest, caring environment for Mother and Baby to really connect to one another with no distractions and have some real quality time.
Baby yoga supports the development of the baby’s cognitive powers, by aligning the body and creating balance, and strengthening the basic structure of the body. Baby yoga aids the progressions from reflex movement to voluntary movement . Helps baby to grow the perception of gravity, movement and special awareness, which naturally leads to the development of social and emotional awareness within.
Baby Yoga induces relaxation of the baby and stimulation through fun, freedom to move and experience the most important aspect of the Mother baby bond which is touch. It helps with the activity patterns such as sleeping, eating, movement and coordination.
Nazik finds that babies in this environment tend to develop skills at a faster rate. Through specialised proven techinques areas of babys brain are developed.
Guiding your baby through early movement helps to strengthen the spine, hip joints and core muscles.

We start with a massage for baby so that their muscles are warmed up, just in the same way that we will warm our own muscles before exercising.
We will move through tactile sequences making bonding with your baby fun while encouraging neural development, as at birth a baby’s brain and nervous system are not fully developed. Tactile stimulation contributes to the development of brain and nervous system.

Many sequences lend themselves to song and rhythm, using songs during the class we encourage language development and keep baby engaged. Don’t worry if you can’t carry a tune, babies love the sound of their mother’s voice and Nazik will lead the way.

When to start:
Every baby is different so Nazik believes Mums knows their babies best. As a guide the best age to bring baby to class is when the head can be held up independently.
The classes are great for getting out and meeting new mums, or just getting out and enjoying your time with baby.
Our Mama & Baby Yoga sessions will help you to develop and enhance your daily routine with baby.

I am happy to work with smaller NCT groups in homes as well as larger classes
