Nannyland

Little children come to me for hugs and fun and glee,
I care for all their simple needs and I also fix their tea,
I pick up toys, I mop their spills and often dry their tears,
I tie their shoes, I button their coats and scare away their fears,
I comb their hair, bake yummy cakes and wave them off to school, I pretend to be a dinosaur and often play the fool,
I cuddle, sing and read to them, I look on with such pride.
I close my eyes and count to ten and wait for them to hide.
I know that soon the day will come, when we will have to part,
But I know each child I cared for, is forever in my heart.
