Nairn Wool Shop

The Wool Shop on the Brae, also known as Caledonian Craft Connections, is now in new, larger premises. Still in view from the old shop, so can be found easily if you have been before! This move has enabled us to offer a studio/workshop to the rear of the retail space and to offer an even larger array of specialist wools, yarns and knitting accessories. We continue to sell handcrafted items by local crafters and artisans, which offers the opportunity to obtain truly unique pieces from the Highlands.
Wool and Yarn
We stock branded names: Rowan, Debbie Bliss, Sirdar, Auracania, Noro, Designer Yarns, Woolcraft, Sublime, Regia, Katia, Rico and small individual names such as Colinette, Flying Flock, (SWT sheep) and James Rennie.
We have handspun and hand-dyed hanks from local spinners and dyers, (which are always unique). Availability can depend on the individual artisan.
Our Sock yarn section boasts over 26 varieties of 4ply, in at least 5 or more colourways of each one. A treasure trove for sock knitters!
Lace weight yarns are also available in a good selection including Sublime extra fine lace, Rowan fine lace, Debbie Bliss lace and the more unusual multi-colour lace balls by Shoppel Wolle.
We also stock good quality basics for all needs, from 4ply up to SuperChunky and "DK toy wool"!

Pattern Books and leaflets
We stock a wide range of books and individual leaflets, from baby accessories/garments through to Adult accessories/garments. We also have home accessories, such as cushions, throws, tea cosies and pouffes!

Knitting accessories
Knit Pro, Pony, Hiya Hiya, Clover and Hemline are some of our suppliers, which enables us to offer a wide range of good quality knitting and crochet paraphenalia. We also sell an extensive selection of buttons and ribbons and the craft bags and storage boxes to put them in!
