There is no better place for Morgan Hodges in Royal Tunbridge Wells than The Pantiles: an eclectic and popular Georgian walkway of exclusive shops, galleries, cafés, bars and restaurants that hosts a regular Farmers’ Market and annual food, music and fashion festivals.
Our New York loft inspired premises, at 52 The Pantiles, with its Guest Entrance on Major Yorks Road, was formerly a contemporary art gallery. And the legacy of a ceiling that leaned towards industrial design concepts has worked flawlessly with the retro mood we chose to create. The space expresses both history and modernity. The exposed brickwork and vintage oak floorboards are perfect complements to the bespoke mirrors, designed by ourselves and constructed by local craftsmen from reclaimed materials, and our specific designer choices. Boby trolleys, by MOMA-celebrated designer Joe Colombo, which house all our stylists’ tools. And salon chairs, the original inspiration of Michel Quennessen in 1973, which continue in their popularity today for their design features and comfort.
During the summer months the riffs and melodies of jazz bands dance up from the historic bandstand on the Pantiles’ Upper Walkway and through our windows. Art. Music. Celebration. Morgan Hodges is enjoyably at home.
Welcome to our home, lovely guest.
