Ben Braithwaite Art - Moocoo

Scottish artist Ben Braithwaite has been creative all of his life. After graduating from University where he studied Graphic Design, in 2012 ‘Moocoo’ was born after he gave his mother a unique brightly coloured interpretation of a cow from the undulating Perthshire countryside from where he grew up. After gaining much complimentary attention hanging in her kitchen, Ben's talent for painting quickly evolved into a vast collection of lifelike but fun, contemporary images. Starting with an array of Highland Cows Bens work has since developed to include an assortment of other animals and Ben now takes on a variety of personal commissions sending his work all round the world. His technique is bold, colourful and expressive. His work is built up over many layers of acrylic, both thickly laid on and very watered down to help him achieve his definitive style. His paintings are often finished with the use of pastels which brings a new dimension and texture to his work and brings out the highlights with colour and detail giving his pieces real depth.
