More about Mompesson House National Trust

Mompesson House is the largest and finest house on Chorister's Green, in the Cathedral Close. A Queen Anne townhouse, managed by the National Trust, Mompesson House was used in the filming of Sense and Sensibility in 1995. The interior features beautiful mid-18th-century plasterwork and marble chimneypieces and the collection includes fine furniture and the Trust's largest collection of 18th-century drinking glasses. The secluded walled garden is an unexpected haven of tranquility in the centre of the city and a great place to sit and enjoy tea and cake in our Garden Tea Room.
