Minerva Lodge No. 250 is the oldest continuous surviving Lodge in the City of Kingston upon Hull. Our Lodge was founded in 1782, and was regularly constituted by warrant in 1783.
When our Lodge was founded (1782), the first successes in balloon flight were being realised, and this period was just before the invention of the telephone. The survival of the Lodge is due in no short measure to the outstanding contributions made by our past Worshipful Masters and Brethren who have contributed to our unique character - the use of the Humber Ritual, for example, is peculiar only to a small part of the Province.
