More about Mind Over Matter Fitness & Nutrition

I am a nutritionist and personal trainer who enjoys helping people achieve their goals. I believe that exercise should be enjoyable, but will also push you to achieve your targets. I see many adults that think of exercise and sport as a no-go area, it is something that they hated as a child at school and are reluctant to go back to. My aim is to help people to achieve their goals, be that weight loss, fat loss, toning or gains in strength in a fun, friendly and supportive environment, hopefully dispelling the hatred of exercise. I am also keen to encourage children to being active and thus creating positive associations with exercise from a young age. I feel that this helps them later in life, not only physically and for health reasons but I believe that children’s mental development and learning is stimulated through sport and exercise.

My classes are fun and friendly, suitable for all levels of fitness and ages, I like to emphasise that no-one is too old to begin or even re-start exercising! I am from a clinical & research background so all of my advice and information is fully supported by up to date scientific advice. That said I do not feel that “one size fits all” for exercise or nutrition. I like to work with you as an individual and create a program that gets you the benefits you want but also works long-term for you. It is the same with nutrition, we work together to agree lifestyle changes that are sustainable and work for you and your family.

In terms of where I have come from, I hated PE at school and would do anything to get out of it! I found a love of running about 13 years ago and I have never looked back since. That said, my first memories of running, were wheezing reluctantly around the woods and moaning about it for the first week! So I really do know how hard starting training can be and the mental as well as physical strength needed. Even as an asthmatic I now regularly run multi-day ultra marathons and enjoy strength training/weight lifting. I firmly believe that whatever you set your mind to you can achieve, and I am here to help you with you training and nutrition to achieve those goals. So please get in contact to see how I can help you.
