Mill Corner Holiday Cottages

The Cart House & The Bake House: Two award-winning 4 star holiday cottages for one or two people set in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in East Sussex.

​The cottages are personally looked after and managed by Carol and Roy Apps and their family. Both cottages have been thoughtfully converted from buildings dating back to the early 19th century that were originally part of Mill House Farm, once the centre of a flourishing local milling and baking industry.

The footprint of two of the five windmills can still be seen, and one of the original millstones is set into the path in front of The Bake House. Both properties are single-storey with vaulted ceilings, and lie down a quiet leafy lane within the grounds of the owners’ listed 17th-century mill house where there are ducks, chickens and Soay sheep.

Mill Corner is a small hamlet on the edge of the village of Northiam. Also in the village, and just a mile and a half away from the cottages are the world-famous Great Dixter House and Gardens - regarded as the epitome of English plantsmanship and often referred to as ‘the gardeners’ garden.
