Matt Jackson Gardens

Matt has enjoyed a career of over 20 years in horticulture and estate management, much of it with the National Trust. Having trained as a gardener on the revered Careership at Antony in Cornwall, he went on to finally become the Gardens and Estate Manager at Sissinghurst Castle, also responsible for the portfolio properties. Matt is a highly skilled gardener Matt has been a gardener for over 20 years, and having trained with the National Trust at Antony in Cornwall he went on to work in some of the best UK gardens, progressing to become the Gardens Manager at Sissinghurst Castle, Kent. Matt is a highly skilled and experienced gardener with a particular talent for creative design, architectural layout and that intangible ‘special feel’ that makes a garden remarkable.

Matt also runs his own consultancy business, providing services to large garden and landowners across the country (www.blacksheepconsultants.co.uk). He is a published writer, journalist and a regular on The Sunday Gardening Show for BBC Radio Kent. Matt recently authored 'Lunar & Biodynamic Gardening' published by CICO, a publication that marked a key turning point in Matt's garden and land management approach.
