At MTS we pride ourselves on providing high quality, progressive & up to date training for our students. As a family run school we aim to help students to build confidence have fun and develop a sense of self discipline, all of which are the building blocks for success in everyday life.

Our staff are highly experienced professional performers and teachers. They hold qualifications at Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship levels with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD), Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) & London Academy of Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).

Students have the opprotunity to take part in exams (we hold approx 4/5 sessions each year), our annual production involving the whole school, annual musical theatre production and drama production. Plus our students take part in Young Performer, giving them the opportunity to perform in various West End Theatres. There are many other performing outlets such as, festivals, pantomime, National youth ballet and displays etc.

CLASSES:
We train students using both syllabus technique (Examination Level) and non syllabus techniques. This enables our students be all round dancers/performers.

*Classical Ballet: From 2 1/2yrs old. Preparatory Grade to Advanced 2.

*Acro/Gymnastics Dance: from 4 Years: IDTA & Acrobatic Arts Syllabus.

*Drama: from 4 yrs. General and LAMDA/TRINITY.

*Modern Jazz: From 5yrs old. Preparatory Grade to Advanced 2.

*Tap/Street Tap: From 4 yrs old: Preparatory Grade to Advanced 2 (IDTA) & Street Tap (ATOD).

*Contemporary: Levels 1 to 12 (ATOD).

* Street Dance/Hip Hop: From 4 yrs old. General Classes and Medals.

*BOYS only Free jazz and ballet classes.

* Freestyle Disco: General Classes Grades and Medals.

*Non Syllabus Jazz: From grade 4 Modern Jazz Upward.
Compulsory for Inter, Adv 1 & 2.

*Musical Theatre: All ages and levels including group and solo medals. IDTA & TRINITY.

* Adult Tap & Ballet & Street Dance: All abilities.

MTS has 4 purpose built studios each featuring sprung or harlequin dance floors, wall mounted mirrors, wall mounted and free standing ballet barres. There is a comfortable waiting area with refreshment facilities. Seperate male & female changing facilities and a car park/on street parking.

IDTA INTERNATIONAL THEATRE DANCE AWARDS.

Our students are regularly nominated for the International Theatre Dance Awards. These are only accessible when a pupil is awarded 90% or above in the higher grade and Vocational examinations. Not all students gaining these marks will be nominated. The examiner makes a decision as to wether the candidate has exceptional talent before nominating them.

SOUTH EAST CLASSICAL PERFOMANCE AWARDS:

Students are nominated based on the grade receive at exam level from Grade 2 to Grade 5. To be eligible they must have gained 83% or above to take part. Students compete with other dancers from all over the south east.

Students have also been accepted into the Royal Ballet Associates, Marlowe Panto, National Youth Ballet .
