Made In Erskine

I made my first patchwork item when I was 11 years old. We'd done some patchworking in school a couple years earlier and had decided I wanted to try it as a hobby. So I made two cat beds for my pets.
Since then over 29 years I've done patchwork and quilting occasionally but not to a great extent until this year. I'm taking a break from my 'real' job as a landscape artist and concentrating on patchwork and quilting because I really enjoy it. I love the wide variety of fabrics available. I also find it like a puzzle, to put fabrics together in a pattern that is pleasing.
I'm also starting to incorporate some applique into designs which is a newish thing to try, and a little embroidery which I was also taught at school and have done over many years.
