Fall of 2004, yoga found me - allured by the words of 'POWER' yoga and beachside studio with the view of the Caribbean Sea on a flyer during my holiday in Mexico. Since then was hooked, particularly with Pratyahara and Dharana (fully engaged in an activity, e.g. practising asana with fixed gaze, concentrating on the breath, where the rest of the world falls away yet feeling connected to something greater seeing the karmic energies released from my body, becoming the stars in the dark night during savasana) whilst my work in finance took me across Sydney, Tokyo and now London. Yet again, a deeper calling to yoga knocked on my door in 2015; my local polling station for the general election was held at the Tibetian Buddhist Meditation Centre where I found out a 200hour Yoga Teacher Training course by YogaLondon was being conducted after coming down from a morning meditation at the temple.

In my classes:
The sweat of accomplishment in finding the edge of resistance into a particular position, you notice yourself gripping where you can barely stand or be still being in the body on the mat in the present moment with emotions and thoughts getting in the way. Then, you lean into the discomfort just enough that you can soften and stay engaged as you realise without it, you not only numb pain, but also joy, love and belonging. Using the awareness in the breathing and the conscious intent to be mindful through the dynamic flowing sequences or meditation, your true self calls to you to meet every challenge as opportunity to let go at a deeper level; it wants to open, release and energetically expand, but yet firmly rooted in balance in body, mind and soul. You unveil those layers, aligning the personality with the energy of the soul where you sense an inner expansion pulsating within you that is not related to pulling the joints/world apart. Then, you discover this whole different experience/approach to the practice where the face lights up, the breathe drops down and all is well in the world.
