Classes are all held in the Portobello Community Centre ("The Wash House"), Adelphi Grove, Edinburgh EH15 1AP. This is in the centre of Portobello, and is a cul-de-sac almost opposite the Police Station, which has a distinctive clock tower.

There are usually waiting lists for classes, so it is important to book a place early.

Puppy Class:
A weekly class for puppies up to age 19 weeks of age.

Wednesdays between 6.45 - 7.45pm. Puppies can start the class as soon as the vet gives the OK to be out and about, normally around 11 weeks. The class covers socialisation with other pups and with people, the pups are introduced to new experiences and we talk about/ demonstrate a wide range of topics. You can find out about things like toilet training, preventing chewing, how to play with your puppy, how to calm your puppy. Puppies are started on the Kennel Club's Puppy Foundation level of the Good Citizen Dog Scheme, and complete this during the Beginners Course.

Beginners Course:
A 7 week course of basic pet dog obedience.

Tuesdays between 7.00 - 8.00pm.

Covers topics such as walking without pulling, recall ("Come!"), Sit, Stay, greeting people without jumping up.

Intermediate/ Practice Class:
This is a continuing class for those who have completed the Beginners Course.

Tuesdays between 8.15 - 9.30pm.

This class builds on the skills from the Beginners Course, and adds is a range of other activities for control of your dog and for fun. This includes retrieves, scent work, heelwork to music, basic agility, Rally O, Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme at bronze level.
