Ensuring you know how to exercise during your pregnancy is extraordinarily important in protecting both you and your baby and preparing yourself for birth. Rehabilitation and healing post birth is very important for pelvic floor and core health, regaining strength and realigning posture.

Ginette Brandon-Smith at Lucina Fitness is a fully qualified fully insured pregnancy & postnatal exercise specialist, who can help you to be as strong as you can be for birth and beyond.

Lucina Fitness runs both group classes specific to your stage of pregnancy and postnatal journey, and personal training on a one-to-one basis as detailed below.

Energised Mumma-to-be (2 classes: early pregnancy - 25wks & 25wks - birth):

Pregnancy is a time to maintain exercise and your fitness levels. Programmes will be based on the stage of pregnancy with exercises that are suitable and safe for all you and baby. Health considerations will be discussed in the initial consultation and exercises adapted accordingly.

Rehab. & Relax (first 6 weeks post birth):

Reconnect with your core by learning to activate your pelvic floor muscles and transverse abdominals (TAs) through breathing whilst healing any abdominal separation. The programme contains exercises that mums can use everyday to create a strong, functional, pain free body.

Fit, Strong Mumma (6wks post birth and beyond):

This programme continues to heal your diastasis recti and builds fitness and strength. The addition of resistance work helps to build your strength back to your pre-pregnancy levels whilst keeping your core safe. All programmes are adapted for the individual and their level of abdominal separation.

Personal Training (any stage pre or post pregnancy):

One-to-one sessions personalised for each individual and their level of fitness. Previous, pre-pregnancy fitness and training levels will be taken into consideration and utilised to best support your new phase of training. Ongoing support for breathing, posture and alignment will always be a focus due to their importance in all stages of your pregnancy or post-birth rehabilitation. Personal training clients will also benefit from ongoing support and encouragement with the addition of nutritional recommendations.
