Lowmoor Nursing Home is a privately managed home by proprietor , Dr J S Lidder being Consultant psychiatrist for the elderly (recently retired after 45 years of service)
The home is specially designed, tastefully decorated and has a very committed workforce, showing very little staff turnover over 20 years of business.

Lowmoor also has a male unit (The Oaks Unit) for those clients with dementia related "difficult to manage" behaviours. The home enjoys credibility with the local psycho geriatric services and is praised for its excellent record on management and outcome of the The Oaks Unit.

Therapeutic activities are managed by the activities coordinator.

The home enjoys quality rating band 5 and accreditation of gold standards framework care home foundation level. It has excellent working relationships with local PCTs, Social Services of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire.
