Thank you.”

Little Stars are a child led learning setting, this is called ‘in the moment learning’. This is very simple to understand it is all about capturing the children’s current interests at that particular time. This form of planning is based on what the child is doing and our practitioners interact with the child to build on what the child is already doing (in the moment). Our outstanding practitioners have the necessary skills to identify the child’s interests and know when and how to intervene to help move the child’s learning on. Our practitioner, parents, children and Ofsted think that ‘in the moment’ is a fantastic and great way for children to learn and develop.Little Stars regularly review both the indoor and outdoor environments and ensure these are adapted to meet the children’s level of involvement in their activity. The core areas need to be engaging, stimulating and contain plenty of resources.

The Early Years Foundation Framework 2014 states-
“1.6. Practitioners must consider the individual needs, interests, and stage of development of each child in their care, and must use this information to plan a challenging and enjoyable experience for each child in all of the areas of learning and development.”
Parent- Victoria Beech- “Dear ladies, I just wanted to say how happy it made me to find how seriously you take child-led. Last week at nursery, Sophia drew a picture for her Daddy and asked to send it to him, so Lena took her to the office to get her an envelope on which she wrote his name. Lena then added the address and a stamp and went with Sophia and another child to the post box to post it! How brilliant is that? Such a good way to use a great child-initiated learning opportunity. Please thank your team for all the observing and listening they do. Please encourage them to continue to make the most of child-led opportunities for all the children at Little Stars.”
