Little Rosebuds Childminding

My name is Alina Rose and I would like to welcome you to little Rosebuds Childminding. It has been a long awaited dream of mine to develop my own childcare setting, and I hope you find my home a welcoming and safe place.

It has been my aim to create a caring and warm home from home setting, while at the same time providing a stimulating environment ready to ignite and intrigue little minds.

I am in the process of registering with Ofsted as Childminder, and hold a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. I am hoping to further my academic studies of early years education in the future. I am ever growingly excited and proud to work in this sector, as I have a strong passion for childcare and child development, I am enthusiastic to exploring new approaches , studies and research to help children learn, develop and thrive .

I have previously worked as an early years practitioner in a nursery , and after having my son I decided not to go back. But instead start something of my own, to join together different approaches and philosophys on childcare and development to create something that I thought would be quite special, and out most importantly beneficial to childrens learning.

It is my belief that we should look at the development of children and their learning holistically, this means looking at the whole picture of a child, and not mearly focusing on one area of their learning. Seeking out their interests, their views and opinions, their likes and dislikes, their favourite toys to play with and favourite stories to read and listen to. By looking at all this, I believe we can get a clearer picture of a child and where they are in terms of their development ,allowing us to plan their provision more effectively and accurately, focusing on each individual child, and their needs. As learning is not a linear proccess, I find it important to look at the developmental milestones as a whole, and most importantly concentrate on the little person trying to reach them.

I tried to create a setting in which children are free to explore and learn at their own pace in an environment which allows them to do so . An environment which wasn’t full of bright and distracting colours and posters, but instead a calm and tranquil safe space in which they are encouraged to learn, take part in planning their own activities, enjoy learning at their own pace, and at the same time have guidance, support and comfort that they need.

At Little Rosebuds Childminding we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage ( EYFS), which is a National framework for all early years providers. We focus on the seven areas of learning;
Communication and language, physical development, personal social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and finally expressive arts and design.

I believe that each child has an innate curiosity, is a strong and capable individual, eager to learn and soak up the world around them, and I believe that early years education and childcare should be shaped by , and for that child.
