More about Lilla Stugan Glamping

Lilla Stugan (“The Little Shed”) is a traditional Scandinavian ‘BBQ Hut’ inspired by our family summer house “Stocksjötorp” in Sweden, and the Moomin Troll books by Torv Jansson.

Painted in Traditional Swedish “Rödfärg Red” and decorated in a ‘shabby chic’ Swedish style based on the paintings of Carl Larson, Lilla Stugan is located at the bottom of a secluded apple orchard, next door to The Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve, deep in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of nature.

Lilla Stugan has sleeping facilities for up to 4 people, and also includes a cosy log burning stove, fridge, lights, 240V/USB power points (all battery powered), ample storage, and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area.

Outside the cabin there is a garden area with sun loungers and a large hammock, perfect for soaking up the afternoon sun, whilst listening to the nearby Leigh Brook weir and the sounds of nature.

The outdoor kitchen/dining area is equipped with everything you need for the full ‘alfresco’ cooking/eating experience, with sink, hot & cold water, a Webber BBQ, log fired stove (with oven), double gas burning stove and table/chairs.

You will also find a fully equipped bathroom block with composting toilet and hot water shower.

A short walk through the apple orchard leads you to ‘The Firepit’. Located under a vaulted canopy of trees and over looking the Millrace, this ‘Pyromaniac’s Paradise’ houses an open fire, handmade oak benches and a precision engineered pot hanger with full Dutch oven/camp fire cooking facilities.

To pass the time during your stay, there is a selection of board games, cards and books. Or if you prefer the fresh air, the neighbouring Knapp & Paper Mill Nature Reserve, rumoured to be a favoured haunt of Lewis Carol and inspiration for his Alice in Wonderland books, has plenty of trails and paths to explore.

The Malvern Hills are a 15 minute drive away, and The Cathedral Cities of Worcester and Hereford are also close by, with “The Elgar Route” meandering between them all.
There are several National trust sites in the area and similar country houses and gardens open for public viewing.

For any cyclists amongst you there are endless country lanes and bridle paths to explore. Martin is a keen cyclist and can offer advice on routes or lead guided rides to suit all levels.

There are numerous pubs in the area and we will be happy to advise which ones to visit, depending on you tastes and budgets.
